COHO IN ALASKA

People often ask if stingers can be trolled. So we decided to give it a try. On an Alaskan Adventure cruise with InnerSea Discoveries, we had the opportunity to take a fishing charter with Yes Bay Lodge. Our wonderful guide, Batman, allowed us to fish however we wanted. We tried coho fishing with a 1/2 oz white stinger trolled behind a 0/0 dodger, close to the downrigger ball. It did indeed get hits! So to all of you who have asked, yes, you can troll a stinger. You will catch more fish with a trolled jig if you add a trailing hook behind the jig's tail.
